Red Velvet - Irene & Seulgi (아이린&슬기) is the first sub-unit of Red Velvet. They debuted on July 6, 2020 with their first mini-album Monster.[1]

2020: Debut[]
On April 21, 2020, SM Entertainment confirmed that Irene and Seulgi will be debuting in Red Velvet's first sub unit. On May 27, 2020, the logo for the subunit was released. It was also announced that for their debut they will be releasing a mini-album called Monster. Their first mini-album is set to be released on June 15, 2020 with 6 songs. Pre orders for the album started on May 27, 2020.
On May 29, 2020, SM Entertainment announced that they will be postponing the album release in order to enhance the completeness of the album. They stopped preorders and refunded everyone who ordered. The album was then scheduled to be released sometime in July.
On June 14, 2020, SM Entertainment announced that Irene & Seulgi have already filmed season 4 of Level Up Project. The show is about them going to hot places for dates, horror/haunted house experiences, corroborations stages, and etc. The first episode airs July 8th at 11 AM KST on Wavve. 2 episodes are aired per week and highlight and behind the scenes videos are posted on Youtube every Friday and Saturday.
On June 21, 2020, SM Entertainment announced that their mini-album will be released on July 6, 2020. Preorders started back up again on June 22, 2020.
